Quality Engineer - Manufacturing

Morehead, Kentucky – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with one of the world’s leading manufacturers in automotive, commercial truck and consumer goods industries. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Quality Engineer plans, organizes and coordinates all of the plant’s quality activities and is responsible for programs relative to the assigned plant to ensure implementation. The role trains quality inspectors, developing their product knowledge and improving their work duties on their respective shifts, works with the quality department and plant facilitators to help implement and develop statistical methods of process control and improvement, and reads blueprints, specifications and control plans. Additionally, the position audits quality systems, evaluates causes of scrap and works toward the elimination of such defects, reviews new job notices and quotes, and schedules/attends meetings to review prints, ensuring packaging is available, developing Fab 5 documents, monitoring tool/assembly equipment progress and building prototypes. The appointment is also responsible for interfacing with customers regarding program launches and continuation of manufacture of quality parts and monitoring gauge progress, verifying certification, layout parts and capability studies.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Highly experienced in the manufacturing industry, with strong knowledge of quality and program management. Experience in automotive industry. Experience in injection molding and assembly. Current experience in quality and program management. Possess knowledge of statistical analysis techniques, production control methods, best practices in engineering controls, industrial time study techniques. CQE certification highly desired, but not required.
