Quality Engineer

Chicago, Illinois – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national supplier of automotive components. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Quality Engineer east of Chicago.

What you will do: The Quality Engineer leads/participates in manufacturing group problem solving, initiates “8-D’s” when required for customer or internal rejects and follows up with effective problem solving efforts. The role verifies effectiveness of corrective action, visits customer facilities, and communicates status of quality issues to customers regularly, while also implementing improvements on manufacturing floor. The position works with internal quality issues, provides training to operators, and manages appropriate data, publishing quality performance levels. Additionally, the Quality Engineer generates studies, DOE’s, etc. to improve quality on a preventative basis and follows all safety rules and practices.

 

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree. Current experience as a quality engineer within the tier one automotive industry. Knowledge of SPC. Knowledge of ISO9000/TS16949. Knowledge of quality tools (5why3x, fishbone diagram, etc.). Knowledge of Micrometer, caliper, comparator and hardness checker. Fastener experience would be a plus.
