Quality Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Our client is a major Tier One for German automotive.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Quality Engineer.

What you will do: The Quality Engineer develops suppliers for new launch phases including but not limited to managing program timing with suppliers to meet goals and deadlines, helping suppliers develop their process through the development phase of a program, review and coordinate PPAP of product from suppliers. This position will not only facilitate technical reviews with potential suppliers to establish risk and feasibility and define risk suppliers but also perform risk assessments at suppliers, defining and following up improvement activities. Additionally, the post performs regular supplier APQP reviews and supplier audits, monitoring action plans for improvement. This role also manages both supplier complaints during the program phase and supplier deviations during program phase, while ensuring implementation of error proofing solutions in the supplier’s processes and monitoring the supplier’s tooling, equipment timing, and progress. Further responsibilities include transferring quality requirements to suppliers during kick-off meetings and working closely with plant SQAs to hand-over suppliers after launch.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in tier-one automotive quality assurance. Experience with seating, mechatronics, or mechanisms is a plus.
