Champaign, Illinois – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a growing tier one automotive supplier. They have a recently vacated position for a Purchasing Manager.
What you will do: This role is a key member of the management team and will have overall responsibility for the Purchasing Department including direct reports. This position will work closely with the projects group on new products and existing product modification, as well as the Quality Department on supplier development and the tracking of key supplier measurables. This individual is ultimately responsible for sourcing of both direct and indirect materials, as well as the supporting processes and SAP oversight for the purchasing area. This role conducts initial search for new suppliers for Direct Materials and Indirect Materials (MRO and Capital items) and works closely with divisional head quarters to standardize purchasing practices. This role participates in supplier audits, negotiating price to maximum value. This is a hands-on purchasing role that will also be responsible for soliciting competitive bids, quotations and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms and conditions (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs).
What you will need: Completed 4 year degree. Current position as a purchasing manager within a manufacturing environment. Currently a functional manager with direct reports.
