Pulp/Paper Area Manager

Asheville, North Carolina- Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with an industry leading manufacturing client that has been in business for over 100 years. Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for an Area Manager – Board Machine.

What you will do: The Area Manager provides leadership and management in all areas of the board machines. This role is responsible for the performance of the operations personnel assigned to the area, including the Maintenance & Operations Coordinator, Supervisors, and the hourly Employees on the shift, while also being responsible for setting direction, identifying priorities, coordinating the activities of other departments as it relates to the area performance, and managing the operating budget for the area. The position addresses issues impacting performance expeditiously getting outside resources involved, communicates to all levels of the organization as needed and participates with Area Managers from other areas of the mill to coordinate activities, and assists with any organization activities as needed at the direction of the Business Unit Manager. Additionally, the Area Manager – Board Machine administers policy and procedure within legal guidelines, coaches work group to adapt to new ways of performing work to include understanding of legal ramifications of our policies, government regulations, safety standards, and consistently adhering to and administering policy and procedures, and manages costs by tracking costs using monthly reports.

What you will need: Undergraduate Degree with current experience in a supervisory role. Experience in the paper industry. Experience managing people in a union environment.
