Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a leading industrial materials company. Due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Proposal Engineer.
What you will do: The Proposal Engineer supports estimation and proposals development process, reviews/understands customer’s technical specifications, and coordinates with Sales, customer and Engineering teams to clarify the Scope of Work. The role generates the most appropriate engineering solution for the process and equipment necessary to meet the customers’ needs and ensure compliance with all governing code requirements, while also considering internal resources required for successful project completion. The position interfaces with the Purchasing team to verify availability and suitability of subcontractors, equipment sources and services, documents proposal risks and opportunities, and develops an effective and profitable solution to meet the customers’ technical specifications and requirements.
What you will need: Engineering degree or proven understanding and application of mechanical engineering, trade standards and code (NFPA, IBC, AWS, NEC, SMACNA), as well as an understanding of process flow schematics and equipment sizing. Experience with industrial design build projects. Familiarity with a broad range of disciplines preferred such as sheet metal, piping, structural, material handling or ventilation. Some knowledge of AutoCAD or AutoCAD Viewer. Experience in providing quality output through checking and following established procedures. Lean manufacturing experience.
