Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a national automation manufacturing company. Due to their recent growth the company has opened a position for Proposal Engineer.
What you will do: The Proposal Engineer is responsible for developing detailed quotations in regard to Capital Equipment and Manufacturing Tooling used in the fabrication and assembly of automotive (and non-automotive) components. The role analyzes RFQ/Project Scope requirements and coordinates them with our Process Engineering team, while also defining/assisting in defining manufacturing process steps and sequences of operations. The position constructs cost estimates of material and manufacturing costs by reviewing functional information, engineering drawings and customer specifications, coordinates project controls requirements with Controls Engineering Staff (System, PLC, Pipe & Wire) and integrates associated costs into the proposal cost and summary sheets. Additionally, the Proposal Engineer solicits competitive sources and assists in the preparation of proposals/sales presentations.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Cost estimation/proposal experience. Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of manufacturing processes (Robotic, Fixtures, Cells, General Capital) and latest technologies used within the processes. Metal stamping, assembly experience. GD&T knowledge/experience. Experience or background in Project/Program management and a comprehensive understanding of Project Management tools and procedures. Engineering change/cost change experience.
