Pontiac, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a privately held multinational company in the automotive space.  Our 50 year old client is stable, growing and paid out their bonuses above 100% for the last 4 years and look to continue with strong growth.  Because of this, they have a newly created position for a Project Engineer.

What you will do: The Project Engineer will be responsible for the effective management of the program launch process from concept to delivery through effective communication and coordination of operations and customers. The position coordinates program design with program managers, assists in reviewing designs to assure all manufacturing tolerances have been accounted for in any engineering change or newly created design, and assures Bill of Material and all detail and assembly drawings are of a level to support each build phase. The role reviews/creates design verification plans based on design, product & program requirements, creates, reviews and updates design failure modes and effects analysis through life of program with the program launch team, and ensures all engineering changes are processed and implemented in a timely manner. Additionally, the Project Engineer implements engineering and manufacturing systems, assists in creating new systems that will reduce product lead time to our customers, and is responsible for leading VA/VE processes with a cross-functional team.

What you need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Knowledge of advanced product quality planning (Ford & AIAG Version). Applications software knowledge (spreadsheet and database). Understanding of TS 16949 requirements. Current experience in the Auto Industry. Program launch experience at OEM level. Working knowledge of DFMEA’s and DVP’s. Understanding of APQP. Working knowledge of VA/VE process.
