Project Engineer – Axles

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a leading tier one automotive supplier.  Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for a Project Engineer. 

What you will do: The Project Engineer designs, develops, tests, and produces axle, transfer case and suspension systems and components. The role interfaces with customers, suppliers, test labs, production manufacturing facilities, and several internal engineering groups, performs engineering analysis necessary for the production design, application and testing of axle/suspension components and systems, and manages all aspects of engineering products according to customer requirements. The position works with designers to release detailed drawing packages, establishes good working relationships with team members, outside suppliers, customers and various internal groups, and provides leadership and mentoring for less experienced engineering staff. Additionally, the Project Engineer identifies, verifies and implements solutions to warranty or quality problems that affect product performance.

What you will need: BSME. Experience with off-highway, specialty, and defense vehicle products and systems. Experience with axle, suspension and/or transfer case system integration. Design experience with structural components (forgings, castings, weldments). Knowledge and understanding of vehicle dynamics.
