Project Engineer – Automotive

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to a myriad of industries. We have been tasked to identify a Project Engineer for a newly created role.

What you will do: The Project Engineer owns design efforts in developing new connector and terminal and involved in all Product Development Phases, is responsible for approving Technical Assumptions and Requirements documentation, and presents design concepts at design reviews. The role leads in customer’s Product Design Team meetings, confirms product design intent, and coordinates new product development, debug and release. The position follows and ensures compliance to company and engineering procedures and document control requirements, shows responsibility in leading and coaching new engineers, and manages the activities of multiple programs simultaneously.

What you will need: BSME. Development experience in designing of electromechanical products such as switches, lead frames, plastic housings or copper terminals. Development experience in connector product design. Design experience in some of the following areas: plastic injection molding, plating, stamping and assembly.Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance studies, statistical analysis, DOE and FEA. Knowledge of metals, plastics, adhesives and the basic manufacturing of them.
