Program Manager - Automotive Steering

Plymouth, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national supplier to the automotive manufacturing industry and due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Program Manager – Power Steering.

What you will do: The Program Manager – Power Steering provides technical, project, and team leadership to support and manage team members and projects for control and model development, as well as vehicle and system testing activities. The role mentors engineers for best practices, industry standards, meeting customer requirements, and solving complex engineering problems, defines employee and team goals and objectives, employee development plans, and performs regular performance reviews for team members. The position hires/trains new engineers, supports annual strategic planning and budgeting processes, and provides regular updates to senior management of project progress and problems. Additionally, the Program Manager – Power Steering defines, proposes, and manages development projects, balances the workload among multiple projects, and works collaboratively with other teams and departments to secure shared resources.

What you will need: BS in Engineering. Current experience in tier-one, automotive manufacturing. Strong experience in technical and project leadership, preferably with history in modeling, controls, and/or testing and instrumentation for automotive system development. Experience with ISO 26262, FMEA, Matlab/Simulink, vehicle test equipment, HiL systems, CANape, and/or other tools and processes related to automotive product development. Automotive system development, testing, program management and/or related activities experience. Steering system development experience.
