Product Engineering Technician

Auburn Hills, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Product Engineering Technician.

What you will do: The Product Engineering Technician implements mechanical and electrical hardware/software including programming, design, build, implementation and debug of fixturing used in prototype builds and testing. The role develops/builds test interface circuits for proper evaluation and test monitoring of active sensor designs, performs/documents preventative maintenance of lab equipment, and supports prototype component quoting, tracking, procurement, equipment set-ups, builds (i.e. fabricate, machining, bench work, and assembly of models or components) and performance tests. The position makes recommendations on methods and improvements to tests or products, assists in the preparation of technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analysis, and performs mathematical analysis and statistical computations. Additionally, the Product Engineering Technician documents work procedures in accordance with TS16949, ISO 14001 and C to C, supports prototype part submissions, and maintains compliance to current ISO standards and customer specific requirements.

What you will need: Associates Degree in Electronics. Current experience in electronic product engineering. Experience with environmental testing, and the ability to build/repair/analyze with small SMT components preferred. LabView experience a plus. Knowledge of EMC/ESD testing. Experience in high volume manufacturing. Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
