Product Engineer – Suspension Springs

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com/jobs     is working with a growing Tier One automotive supplier. Due to the company’s recent growth, they have newly opened position for a Product Engineer.

What you will do: The Product Engineer acts as technical supplier contact for current or future suppliers, supports program management in the creation and maintenance of project plans (development, testing, costs, etc.) and timelines for each project, and supports the OEM in the creation and development of the technical specification for suspension components. The role holds responsibility that the component design will meet the specification, releases drawings, ensures all information on the drawings are correct, and creates/updates the engineering bill of material in the PDM/PLC database. The position creates/maintains technical specifications of component, participates in the creation and maintenance of the design and process FMEA’s for the system and all components, and supports processes like TS 16949 and MSSC APQP to ensure the quality and the development results. Additionally, the Product Engineer evaluates PPAP reports, supports quality in the PPAP process, and supports the approval of technical deviations, while also identifying suspension component problem areas. Additionally, the Product Engineer supports cost reduction and redesign programs, attends/supports design review and gate review meetings, and assists in completing of benchmark analysis of suspension components.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in product engineering within a tier-one automotive manufacturing environment. Experience with suspensions.
