Product Engineer - Suspension

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a growing tier one automotive supplier.  Due to this recent growth, the company has opened a position for an Product Engineer.

What you will do: The Product Engineer is responsible for the initial technical design, and the continuous technical support. The role plans and coordinates all test activities and leads design and development of shock absorbers, strut component assemblies, coordinating with system teams from manufacturing, quality, logistics and other departments to bring product into production per customer time tables. The position evaluates field installations and recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions, researches/analyzes data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application, and manages the coordination of fabrication and installation activities to ensure products and systems conform to engineering design and customer specifications.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Proven experience in design for automotive manufacturing, with a background in suspensions. Experience with CAD software and FEA(Finite Element Analysis)/CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) Analysis experience. Understanding of material properties & characteristics of critically used materials such as steel, aluminum, sintered metals, rubber and plastic components, and various coatings. Experience with drivetrain.
