Product Engineer - Steering

Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery  www.movementsearch.com    is working with a growing, diversified, publicly traded 40-year-old company that is a leading supplier to the commercial automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Project Engineer.

What you will do: The Project Engineer participates in project acquisition by supporting the analysis of  the mechanical product and mechanical test requirements. The role analyzes and modifies 3D models & 2D drawings of assemblies with the applicable CAD software, while also performing packaging studies. The position supports the project manager to achieve design, time, cost, and quality targets, performs on-site problem solving and problem resolution during development, prototype delivery and product launch, and supports configuration management and track changes during development phase. Additionally, the Project Engineer prepares decisions to illustrate data and analysis and also supports continuous product optimization.

What you will need: Bachelor degree in mechanical engineering or mechatronics. Experience in automotive industry. Technical knowledge and hands-on experience in safety critical automotive mechatronic systems. Experience in automotive mechatronic design and development and/or testing. Experience in conducting airborne and structure borne noise measurements and analysis is a plus. Proficient in using the CAD software “Catia V5”, other CAD software a plus. Experience with C/C++.
