Product Engineer- Manufacturing

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery    www.movementsearch.com   is working with a growing manufacturing company with several facilities throughout the United States. Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for a Product Engineer.

What you will do: The Product Engineer has exposure to design studios at customer locations working on the clay molds, planning the process flow and working on highly confidential vehicles before they are launched as the final product. The role performs quality testing through water chamber, door slam, window cycling and other environmental testing and travels to customer and internal plant locations to work with teams for the production of the final product on the vehicle, while also leading the design of new systems or vehicle products or product changes. The role reports to the engineering manager, is responsible for the development of new or modification of existing window and door seals for the automotive industry, clarifies customer product requirements, and leads review of designs and modifications with plants and customers. Additionally, the Product Engineer schedules and prioritizes work requests, coordinates product data management, is responsible for developing the DFMEA, and acts as a liaison between customer and product design staff.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical preferred. Mid-range experience in product development and engineering. Experience in rubber and/or glass encapsulation for automotive design and/or manufacturing. Work tools including problem solving, FMEA, DFA & DFM, VA/VE, DOE, DVP&R.
