Product Engineer-Interiors

Northville, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a world leader in the automotive tier one space. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Product Engineer.

What you will do: The Product Engineer produces product drawings, specifications, and conducts product investigations and performance evaluations including planning, sample specification, sample procurement, tooling design, tooling procurement, machine design, machine procurement, machine operation and reporting. This position communicates directly with customers to clarify technical expectations, while additionally creating and directing the creation of product drawings and specifications including design FMEA’s, design studies, and design records. Further responsibilities of the Product Engineer include creating and revising procedures related to product launches, change requests and quality improvements.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and current experience in product engineering within the automotive industry. Experience in interiors. : Working knowledge of 3D CAD software (IDEAS, Catia, Pro-E, UniGraphics, etc.)   Demonstrated competence in the design of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems.  Experience with automotive plastic resins and molding process is highly desirable.   Familiarity with automotive project management experience (knowledge of APQP process a plus)
