Product Development Lead

Novi, Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Our client is a major Tier One for German automotive company. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Product Development Lead.

What you will do: The Product Development Lead is responsible supporting product development. The role takes direction from test engineer and follows through to completion, inputs Shop related (PR) Purchase Requisitions, and performs component test setups on bench and vehicle. The position provides strong general prototype fabrication support and component instrumentation, maintains/tracks instrumentation and test equipment calibration/certifications, and leads Tech Center safety training and annual/semiannual recertification. Additionally, the Product Development Lead manages Tech Center Shipping/Receiving, develops shop and third party supplier capabilities, performs first customer response, and provides simple/practical metrology support using in-house CMM and other standard inspection tools and methods.

What you will need: High school or equivalent diploma. Current experience in technical, automotive manufacturing. Extensive experience working in the OE automotive prototyping environment. Machine shop tool experience: Milling machine, Band saw, TIG Welding. Extensive experience maintaining a shop environment. Background in component testing and validation methods and equipment. Experience with pressure, temperature, force, torque, sensing.
