Product Development Engineer – High Voltage

Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a leading supplier of electronic components to a myriad of industries. We have been tasked to identify a Product Development Engineer – High Voltage for a newly created role.

What you will do: The Product Development Engineer – High Voltage leads design efforts in developing new connectors and terminals following all product development phases, prepares presentation material for design reviews and customer meetings, and develops technical assumptions and requirements documentation that provides an outline for project scope. The role develops/updates Design FMEA, is responsible for design/product validation plan and report, supports cross-functional feasibility reviews of new products, and prepares information such as design concepts at design reviews, competitions, and at meetings with customers. The position participates in customer’s product design team meetings, provides team and customers with regular status updates, and coordinates new product development, debug and release. Additionally, the Product Development Engineer – High Voltage follows all product development steps, supplies tooling groups with necessary drawings for quoting and tool build, assists/supports manufacturing in the debug process, and produces suitable manufacturing drawings that follow the drawing standards.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Design and product development experience. Knowledge of high voltage and high current automotive connection system and electric and/or hybrid electric vehicle systems. CAD skills (2D and 3D). Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance studies, statistical analysis and FEA. Design for Manufacturing/Assembly (DFM/DFA) experience. Knowledge of the product development process.
