Grand Rapids, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with one of the largest privately held automotive companies in the world. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Product Design Engineer.
What you will do: The Product Design Engineer defines development targets for customers technical requirements and documents product development steps/results. This role controls the feasibility and conducts design-FMEAs, and conducts tolerance investigations and develops dimensioning concepts. This role will have oversight over development progress (timing) and the spending curve of the development budget. planning/supervises prototype build, prototype tests and experiments. This position participates in the preparation of testing specifications. supporting the standardization and development of product design standard, value analysis and develops concepts for cost reductions. This role provides technical documents for cost estimation, including product Bill of Materials and supports the technical assessment of suppliers.
What you will need: Engineering Degree. Current experience in the automotive industry. Current experience with FEA/CFD analysis, and products with metal stamping/forming and welding. Current experience with GD&T, DFMEA.
