Warren, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a tier-one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Product Design Engineer.
What you will do: The Product Design Engineer is responsible for developing product designs that meet functional requirements and specifications as well as adhering to standards of manufacturability. The role works as part of a team to develop designs from concept through production readiness, utilizes CAD software for product design (CATIA or Siemens PLM preferred), and provides 3-D modeling of structural and Class A parts. The position analyzes customer standards and specifications, creates designs to meet these specifications, and resolves design problems related to material characteristics, dimensional tolerances, performance requirements, and cost. Additionally, the Product Design Engineer articulates feasibility concerns and issues through PowerPoint presentations, studies specifications, engineering blueprints, tool orders, and shop data and confers with engineering and shop personnel.
What you will need: Bachelor’s in Engineering. Current experience in product design within automotive manufacturing. CAD experience. 3D modeling and Class A surface background.
