Product Design Engineer

Novi, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs  is working with a world leader in the automotive tier-one space. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Design Engineer.

What you will do: The Design Engineer conducts design tasks considering defined costs and deadlines, supports the value analysis, and develops concepts for cost reductions. The role is responsible for the procurement of information from departments, customers and suppliers relevant for the design, prepares design relevant specifications, and inspects external design results. The position supports the feasibility studies and participates D-FMEA reviews, establishes design variations as surface- and/or solid-models based on 3D-models/drawings, and provides illustrations/drawings according to internal and external requirements, and coordinates them with internal and external departments. Additionally, the Design Engineer supports the prototype build phases and considers the relevant experience for the optimization of the CAD model, conducts the exchange and transformation of CAD data, and supports the development of design guidelines and technical standards.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in design engineering. Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry. Experience with D-FMEA reviews. Design experience with NX in the OE automotive or heavy truck industry. Experience with injection molding and aluminum die casting. Ability to travel extensively for training in the first year.
