Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with an automotive supply to a major manufacturing company. Due to recent growth within the company, they have recently opened a position for a Product Design and Development Manager.
What you will do: The Product Design and Development Manager is responsible for the design & development of vehicle systems and parts, and documents related to design changes. This position acts as a liaison between the engineering, manufacturing and sales groups with regards to design development issues. The role leads two engineering groups, liaison groups and modification design groups, supports localization of the parts of our products (that are currently produced in Japan), and interfaces between Japanese design groups and US plants & suppliers. Additionally, the position serves as main engineering contact for products, interfaces with customers to understand design priorities and manages engineering programs, design records and engineering documentation.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 10+ years in Mechanical Engineering. 10+ years of experience with technical discussion with parts suppliers. Design experience using CAD (CATIA V5) required. Current group management experience.
