Saline, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a privately held multinational company in the automotive space. Our 50-year-old client is stable, growing and paid out their bonuses above 100% for the last 4 years and look to continue with strong growth. Because of this, they have a newly created position for a Process Engineer.
What you will do: The Process Engineer evaluates existing processes, targets areas for improvement, and configures new manufacturing systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability and develop best practices within the core operation processes. The role manages projects to support new manufacturing processes/solutions for products on time, supports teams and projects effectively, and reports to the Advanced Process Engineering Manager and/or R&D Manager of project status, concerns, and/or corrective actions. The position creates innovative solutions and implements new process designs, is involved in the creation and implementation of testing and supporting of all phases of commissioning the process to operations, and identifies inputs to manufacturing processes that are capable, repeatable, reliable and safe. Additionally, the Process Engineer supports benchmarking activities, feasibility studies, cost analysis and justification, collects, records, and transcribes data that can be used for training instructions and established maintenance requirements, and develops inputs to effectively hand off targeted processes to Operations.
What you need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in process engineering within manufacturing, preferably automotive. Technical knowledge of plastic processes, aluminum extrusion, fabrication, anodizing (chemical treatments), polishing, or wet/dry coatings. Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and standardized work processes. Working knowledge of injection molding, extrusion or coating manufacturing processes. Experience leading cost savings and performance improvement initiatives.
