Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a three-billion dollar per year, global manufacturing company. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer – Rubber Components.
What you will do: The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for facilitating the footprint, facility layout, and manufacturing techniques needed for the optimization of processes including the development and maintenance of process design, cost estimating, and the sharing of technology/best practices. The role works closely with plants to reduce cost, improve quality, and achieve advancements in both process and product technology, analyzes various internal manufacturing footprint scenarios for NA manufacturing needs, to include any outside suppliers needed for low volume business, while also developing detailed implementation, transfer, and production ramp-up plans to execute on selected footprint scenario. The position leads the research and implementation of new or improved equipment/tooling/processes, assists in the validation of new processes, and confirms feasibility/capability of proposed product/process improvements using statistical methods. Additionally, the Sr. Manufacturing Engineer assists in the transfer of product and process between plants within the division, keeps current on developments related to manufacturing and product technology through meetings with suppliers, customers, trade publications, shows and conferences, etc, and reports status and progress of projects monthly through a Project Status Report.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in rubber component manufacturing preferably for automotive type applications. Experience in managing programs with success. Experience in a quality position would be beneficial. This role will require regular travel to other North American facilities to implement process improvements and standardized equipment/tooling processes.
