Process Engineer

Auburn Hills, Michigan  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a global tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, the company has a newly created position for a Process Manufacturing Engineer.

What you will do: The Process Manufacturing Engineer drives fuel economy improvement through vehicle lightweighting and intelligent mechatronics, advancing safety through innovative structural vehicle architectures and advanced driver control solutions. The role works with product engineering personnel and customer representatives to develop manufacturing processes to manufacture innovative product designs, establishes project constraints to determine most efficient and cost effective methods to manufacture products, and assists in the selection and characterization of non-ferrous, ferrous, composite, and other materials. The position develops manufacturing processes and cost estimates, manufacturing system supplier base, and time studies, while also assisting in plant selection for future products and plan implementation, interpreting GD&T, and facilitating development of PFMEAs. Additionally, the Process Manufacturing Engineer benchmarks current products and processes to optimize performance, leads the resolution of manufacturing process problems and customer concerns, and develops intellectual property including patents and trade secrets.

What you will need: Technical Bachelor’s Degree. Cradle to grave experience individually quoting new business, developing processes, specifying and implementing new equipment in the manufacturing facility, troubleshooting manufacturing problems, and resolving customer concerns. Setup and troubleshooting experience with plastic injection, composites, stamping/forming, joining, and assembly processes. Prior supervision of maintenance and production operations.
