Power Electronics Engineer - Manufacturing

Dayton, Ohio  – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs    is working with a leading manufacturer of electrical and mechanical motion control and power generation products serving markets throughout the world. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Power Electronics Engineer.

What you will do: The Power Electronics Engineer owns the overall electronic hardware architecture design, translates hardware design documents into real electrical circuits, and is responsible for prototype breadbording and testing at unit and integration level. The position debugs/supports development and testing team and interfaces with circuit board contract manufacturer. The role provides support to manufacturing, provides technical leadership for Commercial Technology team, and mentors younger technical team members.

What you will need: Bachelor’s of Science in Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering. Experience with stage gate development process. Experience in the design and development of power electronics – Schematic and PCB Layout. Experience with electronic component selection and magnetic power component design/specification. Experience with electronic motor drive or embedded software development. Some knowledge of the concepts of electronic motor control. Familiar with RoHS and EHS guidelines. Familiar with test procedures for EMI, hipot, transient, ESD, and others. Familiar with agency testing – UL, CSA, IEC, etc. DFLSS certified.
