Plant Systems Manufacturing Engineer

Romulus, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Plant System Engineer.

What you will do: The Plant System Engineer is responsible for maintaining and supporting all manufacturing plant systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. The role provides first level support to plant end user IS&S environment like PC, OS, telephone and software issues on a daily basis, assists in supporting/maintaining all plant computer and communications hardware/software, and adapts systems and methods to change business needs while provide continuous improvement. The position maintains existing documentation, systems and databases, assists in the development, upgrade  and maintenance of all necessary business/system operating procedures, and develops, coordinates and implements program support and documentation. Additionally, the Plant System Engineer participates in management meetings to assess the impact of proposed facility changes, monitors the database systems to ensure secure services to minimize downtime, and assists in training facility personnel.

What you will need: B.S. in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering. Current experience with IT in a manufacturing environment. Microsoft Windows 200X server/workstation experience. Basic ERP knowledge. Knowledge of data acquisition systems, process control, communication hardware and bar code technology. Knowledge of inventory control, production posting and plant business processes. Knowledge of MS SQL 2000 and higher (administration/maintenance of database). Knowledge of WonderWare InTouch (v7.1 or higher). Knowledge of OPC middleware. Knowledge of Backup Systems (e.g. HP data protector, Veritas). Knowledge of networking essentials including troubleshooting and protocols (TCP/IP, NetBEUI).
