Plant Electrical Technician

Tupelo, Mississippi – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an engineered wood products manufacturer that services the construction industry for both residential and commercial markets.   Currently, the mill produces high quality oriented strand board (OSB) 24 hours a day 7 days a week; the mill is designed to annually produce 450 thousand board feet (on a 3/8ths basis). Guntown’s 2014 annual revenue was $79 million and due to this growth, the company has opened a position for a Plant Electrician.

What you will do: The Electrician inspects, installs, repairs, adjusts, constructs, modifies, calibrates, programs and wires electrical and electronic apparatus, devices, and circuits of any voltages in the mill or assigned area. The role troubleshoots, corrects and repairs process electrical problems, process control issues and electrical systems in a  heavy industrial environment, works with electronic system controls and circuits, and assists mechanical maintenance in equipment installation, troubleshooting and repair. The position installs, replaces, and removes electrical motors, makes adjustments on AC frequency or DC motor controls, and makes the appropriate connections and disconnections for electrical and/or electronically controlled valves. Additionally, the Electrician makes entries in log book regarding problems, changes made, update prints and job status and assists in equipment maximization. The majority of Production and Maintenance Team Members work on a 4 team 12 hour shift schedule.

What you will need: High School diploma. Electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment. Knowledge of AC frequencies and DC motors. Experience with electrical wiring and circuits. Working knowledge of industrial process controls and instrumentation. Working knowledge of PLC’s including installation, programming and troubleshooting.
