29Fort Wayne, Indiana – Movement Search and Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Plant Controller in eastern Fort Wayne.
What you will do: The Plant Controller manages/performs plant accounting functions providing all financial information about plant activities that will be used by management to operate the plant and make educated economic decisions about the plant’s future. The role leads/directs the activities of plant accounting to ensure accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, selects, develops, supervises, appraises and motivates subordinate employees to provide an effective departmental work force, and provides back-up support for subordinate positions. The position coordinates with division and corporate planning and control functions to assure the development of short and long range operational plans, budgets and profit plans, prepares monthly sales and profit estimates in advance for senior management, and manages the monthly closing, ensuring monthly reconciliations for balance sheet accounts are performed and are accurate. Additionally, the Plant Controller analyzes overhead, cost of sales and actual manufacturing costs compared to budget, forecast and prior periods, prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs, and reports factors affecting prices and profitability of products, while also establishing/maintaining systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, assets, processes and data.
What you will need: Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting. CPA certification. Current experience in manufacturing accounting. Exposure to standardized costing in a computerized environment.
