Photovoltaic Solar Applications Engineer

Columbia, South Carolina – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a company that combines the research and development, design, and manufacturing assets from the industrial system and power electronic businesses. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Photovoltaic Solar Applications Engineer.

What you will do: The Photovoltaic Solar Applications Engineer prepares timely and accurate commercial proposals and technical specifications to support sales function for solar power photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system projects. The role creates a network of commercial and technical evaluator relationships with customers and vendors, defines solutions that include hardware and software requirements for a project, and prepares detailed cost elements for the technical specification, while also developing pricing strategies to maximize project margins. The position identifies enhanced product or service feature needs by soliciting feedback from clients, designs competitive and viable technical approaches to resolve customer issues, provides product and system feedback and service opportunities for improvement, and evaluates supplier proposals. Additionally, the Photovoltaic Solar Applications Engineer prepares/delivers presentations at technical conferences and meetings with clients, provides technical guidance in the preparation, review, and final commercial proposal generation to customer, and tracks competitor’s offerings.

What you will need: Bachelor of Science in electrical or mechanical engineering. Current experience in systems or application engineering in the photovoltaic industry. Experience with utility-scale inverters. Experience with projects for commercial solar use.
