Athens, Georgia – Movement Search and Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with an industry leading manufacturing client that has been in business for over 100 years. Due to their growth, they have a newly opened position for an Operations & Planning Manager.
What you will do: The Operations & Planning Manager is responsible for overall activities within the scheduling and shipping/warehouse departments, for ensuring efficiency in order processing, scheduling and inventory control while also ensuring the efficiency of our manufacturing process, and for backup support for order processing and scheduling. The role provides support in problem solving, cost reduction and process improvement thru utilization of the Six Sigma process, is responsible for the timely shipment of finished products and completion of shipping documents, and confers with the supply chain coordinator and general plant manager concerning production needs, converter machine schedules and overtime needs.. Additionally, the Operations & Planning Manager ensures each employee receives proper training and instructions, provides them with the correct tools to do their jobs, and manages overtime and crew shifts according to the needs of the department and customers. This role will have 3 direct and up to 20 indirect reports.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. General knowledge of manufacturing process including machine output capabilities. Proven experience in operations and planning in a managerial role.
