Operations Manager

Port Huron, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with a national supplier of the tier-one automotive industry. Due to recent growth, the company has recently opened a position for an Operations Manager.

What you will do: The Operations Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and directing plant resources to achieve company’s operational objectives, stays involved in production, and implements/achieves KPIs. The role develops and trains an operational team, is responsible for operational costs of the plant, and maintains processes for continuous improvement. The position leads and supervises plant personnel consistent with company policies and rules contained in the Employee Handbook, develops and coaches a culture of accountability, and ensures employees have appropriate support and are treated fairly. Additionally, the Operations Manager advocates employee communication throughout plant, including leading employee involvement meetings and addresses employee performance issues including disciplines and terminations.

What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree. Significant experience in high volume production. Experience with process improvement. Experience managing 60+ personnel. Manufacturing systems experience. Knowledge of quality systems: TS16949, APQP, PPAP, and SPC. Mechanical aptitude, with experience in machine repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical. Automotive industry experience. Experience with scheduling production. Strong working knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques. ERP implementation experience. Prior experience with developing and implementing procedures.
