Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a growing manufacturing client and due to this growth, they have opened a position for an Operations Director.
What you will do: The Operations Director develops and executes the strategic plan for setting up a new metal powder production operations to meet corporate policies, goals and objectives. The role plans and directs activities so that products are manufactured safely and on-time, evaluates current and proposed systems and procedures, determining and implementing changes as necessary, and drives innovation throughout plant for continual improvement and sustainable profitability. The positions plans and directs major projects, provides metal powder production processing expertise, and identifies best in class process technology, developing equipment specifications to supply required quality and volume. Additionally, the Operations Director acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, hires, trains, develops and evaluates staff to ensure high performance and high retention, authorizes contracts, purchase orders, and legal agreements per DOA, and is responsible for monitoring and communicating the project status.
What you will need: BS in Engineering, Metallurgy, or Materials Science. Manufacturing or technology management experience with increasing responsibilities. Master knowledge of site operating equipment in terms of theory of operation, operating procedures, maintenance, and overall impact on product manufacturing. Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management. Knowledge of business and management principles and practices. Knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices. Knowledge of human resource principles and practices. Knowledge of project management principles and practices. Knowledge of product and process development. Knowledge of quality toolbox, lean manufacturing and 5S principles. Knowledge of metal powder production processes for nickel alloys and titanium.
