Network Engineer

Lansing, Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with a growing, diversified, publicly traded 40-year-old company that is a leading supplier to the commercial automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Network Engineer, southwest of Lansing.

What you will do: The Network Engineer is responsible for receiving, recording, and reconciling customer/end-user technical questions in a timely and professional manner as well as managing performance of the local area network (LAN) and maintaining LAN security. The position acquires, installs, and maintains local area network hardware, analyzes/resolves network hardware, software, and performance problems, and assesses/administers all equipment, hardware, and software upgrades. The role assists customers/end-users with questions on product installation, usage, and implementation, conducts research on network products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the networking industry, and creates/maintains documentation for configuration, mapping, processes, and service records. Additionally, the Network Engineer documents all contacts, actions, and responses in helpdesk tracking system, establishes/implements LAN/WAN policies, procedures and standards, and evaluates vendor products in hardware, software and telecommunications equipment.

What you will need: Associates degree in Information Technology. Current experience in network engineering. ITIL Practitioner v3, Microsoft, SonicWall, Cisco and/or VMware certifications preferred. Experience with network and PC/Server operating systems, telephone systems, including CISCO, VMWare, NetApp, QNAP SANS, Cisco USC, etc.
