Benton Harbor, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with an industry leader in the consumer products industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Motor Control Engineer.
What you will do: The Motor Control Engineer researches, designs, simulates and prototypes embedded motor control for high performance motors (e.g. induction or permanent magnetic ) applied in appliances including analog to digital and digital to analog conversion, digital signal processing (DSP) and hardware/software interfacing. The position develops advanced algorithms for the automatic control of appliance dynamics, its real-time implementation in fixed-point or floating-point microprocessor architectures and integration with the drive system hardware. The role develops innovative tools such as motor control user interfaces that allow the transfer of new drive system technologies to other technical groups within the company. Additionally, the Motor Control Engineer provides technical contributions, leadership, consulting and project administration both as an individual contributor and in a team effort, while also investigating the latest embedded control and drive system technologies and communicate the best available throughout the company.
What you will need: Master’s in Electrical Engineering. A strong in-depth understanding of motor technologies and digital motor controls. Experience in the implementation of AC induction and motor controls based on DSP platform controllers. Experience in motor drive development. Experience with Matlab/Simulink tools. Experience with C code implementation for low cost processors. Design knowledge of electronic circuits for signal and power electronics stage.
