Cost Engineer

Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an international supplier of automotive products and due to their recent growth, they have opened a position for a Mechanical Cost Engineer.

What you will do: The Mechanical Cost Engineer prepares cost estimates for mechanical components and helps position the company as a leading supplier in the automotive and medical spaces. The role focuses on material costs and process routings, reviews request for quote (RFQ) packages, including CAD data, drawings, bills of materials (BOM’s), and product specifications, and prepares component BOM’s and manufacturing routings for metal components, as well as other mechanical components including molded plastics. The position creates cost estimates for stamped, cast, forged, and machined metal components from the developed BOM and routing using standardized cost models, reviews external supplier quotes for mechanical components to confirm reasonableness, and works with advanced engineering to prepare quick turnaround engineering estimates.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Current experience in cost estimation. Experience with metals and injection molding.
