Farmington Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is with a 10,000 employee tier one supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Mechanical Engineer – Piston Rings.
What you will do: The Technical Expert – Piston Rings is responsible for the coordination of regional pre-development projects including support to the global and local product experts and project leaders. The role proposes technical solutions for product development projects, develops product line strategies for regional and global markets, and supports intellectual property functions including innovation, patent searches and risk infringement. The position supports sales with technical inputs for customer projects and business prospects, interfaces with design, R&D, development and testing in order to optimize design solutions, and provides periodic reporting of market trends and regional development activities. The Technical Expert – Piston Rings provides training and technical reference materials, participates in portfolio reviews and product strategy activities, and provides input to component analysis for prototypes and field returns.
What you will need: Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Familiarity with power cylinder components and their function. Strong technical knowledge of piston ring applications. Basic understanding of project management. Experience with Lotus Notes and SAP. German or Portuguese proficiency is desired.
