Norfolk, Virginia – Movement Search and Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a international conglomerate supplier of manufactured products. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Mechanical Engineer.
What you will do: The Mechanical Engineer researches, designs, installs, tests, analyzes, and maintains machined parts, castings, weld fabrications, and other components of mechanical systems and processes to meet requirements. The role reads/interprets maintenance and operators manuals, blueprints, technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, pressure traces, and computer-generated reports, confers with engineers to implement operating procedures, resolves system malfunctions, and provides technical information/feedback to other engineers on customer problems and needs related to mechanical systems. The position specifies mechanical system components, directs modification of truck components to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications, analyzes customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data, and assists drafters in developing the mechanical design of products using drafting tools, CAD programs, drafting equipment and software. Additionally, the Mechanical Engineer investigates equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, estimates loading on structural members, air/hydraulic flow velocity rates, cylinder speeds, steering system calculations, pump inlet conditions, and heat transfer calculations on air/hydraulic/fuel systems, and oversees installation, testing, and maintenance procedures to ensure that mechanical system components are installed and functioning according to specifications.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Current experience in a mechanical engineering role. Experience in manufacturing. Knowledge of Pro-E, drafting tools, CAD or drafting equipment and software. Knowledge of modeling and multidimensional tools. Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
