Auburn Hills, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a global, electronics company to identity a Product Engineer – Mechanical for a newly created role.
What you will do: The Product Engineer – Mechanical acts as lead technical representative in support of new business initiatives, including identifying new opportunities, developing design concepts and costing, and conducting formal design reviews. The role identifies appropriate sensing technology and organizes functional model development (including design, building, and testing) to verify sensor design concepts, creates and maintains engineering documentation such as bills of material, DFMEA, prototype process flows, specifications, and other types of engineering documentation, and reviews, amends and approves key engineering documentation developed by other engineering personnel as delegated by supervisor. The position supports program management with cost model generation, resolves open issues (internal and customer driven) for products under development and in production, and reviews and identifies changes to detailed drawing sets and specifications from design concept stage through production at the component and assembly level. Additionally, the Product Engineer – Mechanical analyzes dimensional stack-ups and makes use of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing techniques, assists purchasing with identification and evaluation of tooling sources, and leads prototype product failure analysis and corrective action activities on customer returns, scrap/validation test parts.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Current experience in product engineering. Experience in high volume manufacturing. Electro-mechanical design experience.
