Chattanooga, Tennessee – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with an electrical systems integrator that focuses on custom engineering, project management, electrical integration, site installation and post-sale customer support. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Mechanical Designer.
What you will do: The Mechanical Engineer performs structural and mechanical analysis for detailed design of large transportable steel modules, sources components required to construct the design, and takes a hands-on role in the design and analysis of structures. The role leads structural design team on projects, complies with the society structural design basis, structural design specifications, and develops construction and installation work procedures and cost estimates. The position prepares technical proposals and check structural designs/drawings, interfaces with internal and external customers and coordinate with other functional areas of the process, and optimizes structural components to meet requirements, while also converting high level concepts to detailed designs.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Formal training in AutoCad and SolidWorks software. Steel structural design experience. Current experience in mechanical engineering. Experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and related industries preferred. Knowledge and experience with transportation and lifting of modular structures. Good working knowledge of API, RP2A and AISC codes. Working knowledge of define stresses, using computerized finite element program, in order to optimize structures.
