Decatur, Georgia – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a growing, multi-billion dollar manufacturing client. Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
What you will do: The Mechanical Design Engineer initiates/develops concepts for new products from specifications provided by the product managers, eliminates waste, improving productivity while accepting accountability to deltas to the plan, and forecasts task deadlines The role analyzes trends, demonstrates continuous improvement, and leads teams in the creation of standard work, implementing improvement opportunities. The position rolls out the training thru the matrix organization, stays involved in prototyping, and tests, reviews, and qualifies specifications. Additionally, the Mechanical Design Engineer works with certification agencies internal and external to get the product qualified (including all validation testing) and listed.
What you will need: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. Proven track record of electronic design. Knowledge of process engineering. Current experience in design engineering. Good knowledge of 3D CAD systems and solid understanding of FEA and CFD tools. Proficient in six sigma/Lean or DMAIC tools. Good understanding of manufacturing methods.
