Houston, Texas – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a 100 year old world leader distributed control systems. Due to their continued growth and increase in market share, they have a newly created position for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
What you will do: The Mechanical Design Engineer performs field and in-house troubleshooting and repair of AC induction motors including mechanical design, development, and production of medium voltage adjustable speed drives. This role will engineer drive structure and support, design for specific environments, vibration analysis, stress analysis, temperature management and design. The Engineer will provide engineering expertise to drafters/designers/production personnel on production orders.
What you need: Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering . Experience in the design or maintenance of AC induction motors. Pro-Engineer and AutoCAD experience. Experience with sheet metal , preferably with power electronics products. UL, CSA Certification process knowledge is preferred. Knowledge of stress analysis, vibration analysis, thermal management strategies. Understanding of adjustable speed drives and their applications a plus – Medium Voltage experience highly desired.
