Mechanical Design Engineer – Hydraulics

Auburn Hills, Michigan Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com    is working with an international tier-one supplier of automotive components. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

What you will do: The Mechanical Design Engineer resigns and implements into production new or modified clutch actuation designs to meet customer requirements, oversees detailed engineering activities on a day-to-day basis, maintains the design records and uses design knowledge and experience to guide design activities. The role plans and communicates project open issues, creates new product designs, and manages detailed design activities for new systems to meet customer expectations/needs, while also promoting ongoing product development improvements. The position conducts system design reviews to interface customer requirements with internal cross-functional team, ensures customer drawing priorities are met, assesses key parts of a new design, and coordinates internal APQP activities. Additionally, the Internal Project Engineer conducts meetings internally between cross-functional team members and reviews project status and requirements, is responsible for releasing tooling through the use of technology Checklist, and manages projects internationally.

What you will need: BSME. Advanced experience in a product design, development and release to production environment, preferably within the automotive industry. Knowledge of plastics, molding, rubber, metalworking and forming. Knowledge of hydraulics and fluid dynamics. Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance studies and feasibility studies.
