Houston, Texas – Movement Search & Delivery   www.movementsearch.com   is working with an an electronics for power distribution. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Mechanical Design Engineer.

What you will do: The Mechanical Design Engineer is assigned to projects involving the mechanical design, development, and production of medium voltage adjustable speed drives. The role follows marketing specifications for new products, and supports project and sales engineers in applying the products, while also working closely within a team to perform various functions of drive design, including drive structure and support, design for specific environments, vibration analysis, stress analysis, temperature management and design. The position provides engineering expertise to drafters/designers/production personnel on production orders, attends/leads design reviews both internally and with customers to resolve technical and programmatic issues, and provides engineering support for sales, project management, manufacturing, field service and quality.

What you will need: BSME. Experience in mechanical design. Pro-Engineer and AutoCAD experience. Knowledge of control houses and electric motors. Experience with sheet metal, preferably with power electronics products. UL, CSA Certification process knowledge is preferred. Knowledge of stress analysis, vibration analysis, thermal management strategies. Knowledge of adjustable speed drives and their applications is a plus – Medium Voltage experience highly desired.
