Troy, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a growing Tier One automotive supplier. Due to the company’s recent growth, they have newly opened position for a Material Engineer – Metallurgy.
What you will do: The Material Engineer – Metallurgy manages projects, meets deadlines, develops proposals, and interfaces with clients/customers/vendors. The role participates as an active and contributing team member in the development and documentation of proposals, reports and presentations, provides metallurgical reporting of prototype and production parts and processess, and conducts steel mill audits, visits and approval. The position performs duties such as sectioning, grinding, polishing, hardness testing, microstructure evaluation, grain size evaluation, root-cause analysis on failed components, heat treating and acid etching, while also reviewing and updating material specifications. Additionally, the Materials Engineer – Metallurgy participates in cost reduction activities for existing products and manages projects according to TS16949 guidelines.
What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Engineering. Current experience in metallurgy within manufacturing. Extensive experience with and knowledge of steel, materials, and steel processing.
