Manufacturing Quality Engineer

Birmingham, Alabama  – Movement Search and Delivery    www.movementsearch.com    is working with a multinational supplier to the automotive industry. Due to their recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Quality Engineer in eastern Birmingham.

What you will do: The Quality Engineer is responsible for helping realize goals for customer quality and quality assurance. The role acts as customer advocate by processing customer complaints in accordance with the company’s defined processes and procedures, records, tracks and reports out on key metrics related to customer quality, and identifies improvements for reducing customer defects and their impact customer issue resolution process metrics tracking and reporting. The position records, tracks and reports out on key quality metrics, ensures that appropriate quality assurance and control procedures are in place for product realization (i.e. appropriate PPAPs established, material requirements identified, test plans & procedures, and COAs), and leads resolution of product quality conformance questions in a timely manner. Additionally, the Quality Engineer works constructively to help production realize goals for key metrics such as cost of quality and internal quality scrap rates, supports projects which help improve product quality and quality processes via the use of statistical tools and quality improvement processes, and works with cross-functional teams to identify, implement, and ensure institutionalization of solutions to complex problems.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Experience in a quality engineering assurance role. Experience within an ISO/TS quality management system environment.
