Des Moines, Iowa – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com is working with a world class supplier of products to a myriad of industries within manufacturing. Due to recent growth, the company has opened a position for a Process Technician.
What you will do: The Process Technician provides technical support for the molding operations including preparation, set-up and troubleshooting of machines and secondary operations. The role confers with department supervisor, examines and measures sample assemblies for adherence to surface and dimensional specifications, using gauges such as micrometers and calipers, and confers with quality control personnel to gain approval of sample for production, while also examining work to detect production defects. The position performs periodic inspection rounds, performs material handling duties in a back-up capacity, meets productivity standards. Additionally, the Process Technician observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunctions, adjusting machines, performs minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or work pieces, or adding coolant to machine reservoirs, and positions, adjusts, and secures stock material or work pieces against stops, on arbors, or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually or using hoists.
What you will need: Current experience in a process role. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods. Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Hands on experience using measurement devices, i.e. calipers, micrometer, height gauge, etc. Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) procedures and applications.
