Pontiac, Michigan – Movement Search & Delivery www.movementsearch.com/jobs is working with a national automotive, tier-one supplier. Due to recent growth within the company, they have opened a position for a Manufacturing Manager – Black Belt.
What you will do: The Manufacturing Manager – Black Belt solves manufacturing problems and drives initiatives to improve overall efficiency, cost, productivity, and quality at each manufacturing plant through engineering methods, lean manufacturing, industrial engineering and key capital improvements. The role champions continuous improvement projects that support the corporate and manufacturing strategies, raises the level of awareness for lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, and conducts employee training on lean concepts. The position analyzes weekly and monthly production data and manufacturing orders to identify sources of variance to targets and opportunities to improve the line, labor and material deficiencies, while also identifying any potential capacity constraints and proactively addressing solutions. Additionally, the Manufacturing Manager – Black Belt initiates, proposes, and manages key capital projects that will improve the overall productivity and cost of each of the plants and evaluates data and metrics to determine best practices, verify procedures and policies are in place to maintain that performance level and drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve performance.
What you will need: BS Degree in Engineering. Current experience in a manufacturing environment with familiarity in operations management, lean and continuous improvement practices. Knowledge of industrial engineering tools. Six Sigma Black Belt with a history of deploying lean principles and Six Sigma problem-solving methodologies to achieve continuous improvement goals. Bilingualism in English and Spanish is a plus. Ability to travel to Mexico up to 50%.
