Manufacturing Engineer - Process Planning

Novi, Michigan – Movement Search and Delivery   www.movementsearch.com/jobs   is working with an international supplier to the automotive industry. Our client is a major Tier One for German automotive.  Due to their growth, they have a newly created position for a Manufacturing Engineer – Process Planning.

What you will do: The Manufacturing Engineer – Process Planning plans and designs the manufacturing processes, including equipment, tooling, gauging and testing, for Request for Quotations (RFQ’s) per the worldwide standards, while also completing customer documentation requirements pertaining to manufacturing process, equipment, layout, quality and delivery. The role maintains customer supplier tool records for quote purposes, completes Standard Manufacturing Assembly Concept (SMAC) sheets as part of process development to support quoting activity, and obtains input and approval of SMAC’s from receiving plant. The position develops material to present manufacturing process to customers for technical reviews during business acquisition process, answers pre-launch change notices, including quoting of tooling or process changes, and uses tooling and process standards in the development of new processes. Additionally, the Manufacturing Engineer – Process Planning creates and executes Annual Personal Business Plan that supports EETAM Annual Business Plan.

What you will need: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering experience working for an automotive supplier in welding or metal fabrication. Process development experience. Knowledge of continuous improvement of products for manufacturability. Knowledge of engineering fundaments, mechanical systems, automotive systems, and exhaust systems.
